Little Bee School Honors Indonesia’s Independence Day with Great Pride

Demonstrating the strong spirit of nationalism and community involvement, Little Bee School held a meaningful celebration on August 16, 2024, to observe Indonesia’s 79th Independence Day. The celebration made everyone demonstrate unity in making a day filled with cultural satisfaction, innovation and delightful performances.
Wearing red-and-white-themed clothing, young learners from all levels participated in a bunch of activities directed at respecting the nation’s rich culture. Highlights of the celebration included a flag-raising ceremony, dance performances, and a lively traditional game.
The Little Bee teachers and staff expressed pride in the young learners for embracing the nation’s values and history. At Little Bee, we believe it’s important to teach our children about the significance of our independence. This celebration was not just about fun—it’s about remembering the sacrifices made for our freedom and instilling a sense of love and respect for our country.
Parents and teachers cheered as children engaged in traditional games such as balap karung (sack race), makan kerupuk (cracker-eating contest), and tarik tambang (tug of war), filling the air with laughter and excitement.
The event concluded with a rendition of the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya,” followed by the distribution of Indonesian-themed souvenirs and snacks. Many parents praised the school for creating a meaningful and memorable experience that blended education with national pride.
